The San Francisco Art community has been a constantly active and innovative art exposure movement. You don’t even have to go to the many art galleries in the area to experience the life brought to this place by artists. Each one of them has a particular way of giving a sample of their source of inspiration or awareness-raising motivation. SF’s art community is an ever growing community of artists who, are characterized by influencing street-art, culture and art galleries. To walk along Sf bay, can be described as a journey full of unexpected artistic findings. Art types can range from traditional to experimental. And when it comes to contemporary art, local artists can definitely throw intense art statements about it. Just by taking a walk on the Bay area, you can notice the presence of art.

Whether you intentionally mean to look for it or not. A perfect example of a local artist who exposes her art work and arises awareness at the same time is:

Jenifer Wofford. She designs murals on the SF bay to call attention of passersby, on the fact that trash and chemicals are constantly being thrown through storm drains in the Mission Bay neighborhood.

Your walk through the bay, can suddenly be caught in the murals done by Jet Martinez, a Mexican influenced artist whose murals look as if they had been woven onto the walls. His murals are inspired by Mexican textile designs. All of his murals have a very talented personal seal, which is seen in the careful color picking and layering of lines he does.

Are you ready for abstracts? Apex can take your mind out of predetermined shapes and concepts with his aerosol- abstracts murals. He is also part of the local art community. When looking for some of his work around the city, don´t hold onto expectations from what you have already seen. None of his art work looks quite like the other.

San Francisco Bay, is an example of what needs to happen in more bays or places in general around the world. To have a public art gallery which, not only raises awareness but is able to take people out of their routine and personal life concerns, and open their view and mind to a variety of ways to interpret this world is something that societies need.
